Mound Westonka White Hawks standout football player Carter Kleinsasser was recently selected to play in the 2024 Minnesota High School All-Star Football Game, which will take place on Saturday, December 14th at 1:00pm at U.S. Bank Stadium. The senior captain adds this great accomplishment to a long list of football accolades:
-2023 & 2024 Skyway Bronze All-District Selection
-2024 Skyway Bronze Subdistrict Linebacker of the Year
-Team Captain
-Two-Year Starter
-Three-Time Letter Winner
Carter Kleinsasser was a 2-year starter and 3-time letter winner for the White Hawks and was a Skyway Bronze All-District selection in both 2023 and 2024. Additionally, Kleinsasser was selected as the 2024 Skyway Bronze Subdistrict Linebacker of the Year.
“Carter Kleinsasser is one of those kind of players who make us coaches look really smart. He is honestly one of the most talented players I have had the opportunity to coach. His physicality and tenacity were unparalleled as he was constantly in the backfield on defense even though teams dedicated two, if not three blockers to him on every play,” White Hawks Head Coach Nick David said. “Carter’s high motor and pure determination on each and every play was second to none every game that he stepped foot out onto the field. His ability, grit, and leadership will truly be missed,” Coach David said.
Kleinsasser joins the list of 19 former Mound Westonka High School football players and coaches that were selected to play and coach in the Minnesota High School All-Star Football Game: Bernard Linquist (guard, 1946), Ron Bates (back, 1952), Andy Jackson (center, 1954), Scott LaGault (guard, 1959), Tom Wiswell (defensive end, 1980), Marc Illies (defensive back, 1981), Tom Illies (defensive back, 1982), Christian Norton (defensive back, 1990), Nate Schermerhorn (defensive line, 2011), Bryan Tierney (defensive back, 2014), Isaiah Cherrier (defensive back, 2016), Evan Dahl (defensive back, 2017), Kris Kurtz (linebacker, 2018), Isaiah Dempsey (offensive line, 2019), Logan Leonard (defensive back, 2020), Tyler Von Bank (wide receiver, 2021), Sam Dioszeghy (offensive line, 2022), Mikey Oftedahl (offensive line, 2023), and Nick David (Head Coach, 2023).
